4th of july

Friday rolled around and I got a call and an offer to go spend the weekend up north at “The Lodge” again. Since I didn’t really have any plans, I took full advantage. My cousin and I decided to head up on our motorcycles and take our chances with the rain. The weather over the whole weekend wasn’t very good, but everyone up there managed to keep themselves busy. On Sunday I decided to do something somewhat athletic and swim across the lake. I figured it was about two thirds of a mile, and once my body warmed up to the frigid water temperature, I finished the swim with no problems. To my surprise about 3 hours later two twin sisters swam to the lodge from an island about a mile away. Man, just when I think I did something really cool… (hehe). I also got to shoot a few more guns that I never had before. Shot a 30-6 and a 30-30 which by the way is one fun gun! Single shot lever action… man, what a riot! Also with us were 2 20ga, 2 12ga, 2 22's, a 9mm glock, and a 410. The weekend ended of course way too early and hopefully I’ll have a few more opportunities to visit the lodge this year before snow flies.
