Honeymoon - Day 6

Today we woke up to knocking on the door. It was 9am and room service had arrived. We stumbled out of bed and opened the door to our first day at sea. The weather was wonderful as we enjoyed some omelets in style on the balcony. We got ready for the day and put on our swimsuits to try to catch some sun on the deck. We laid out for a bit before we decided to stop for lunch. We grabbed our coupon book and went to Johnny Rockets, a 1960’s throw back restaurant on one of the upper decks. The food was marginal and the malt I ordered was maybe the worst ever. We finished up and decided to head back to the room to change into some clothes so we could go ice skating. We got to the rink and signed the release forms before getting some skates to play on. The skate options were bleak, and almost all of them were figure skates. It was a little weird negotiating the tow pick, but Melissa skated like a champ and we enjoyed our 10 minutes carving up the 30x30 foot rink. With the skating behind us we sat around in the room until 2:30 when we decided to catch the Hughes Brothers, a musical act out of Branson Missouri. Their act was fun and comedic, well worth the hour out of our day. The show however went a little long, so our wine tasting plans got canned and we spend the rest of the afternoon hanging out. Dinner rolled around and we went to the main dining room for dinner. The food was great as usual and after dinner we swung by the “welcome back” party for repeat cruisers. The average age was well over 50 and we felt very out of place. We adjourned early and killed time until the evening’s entertainment Brad Cummings, a ventriloquist, began. His act was very original and to my surprise kept everyone entertained the full hour. After the show we once again felt 70 years old and called it an early night.
