cowboy hats

Yesterday after work I went out shopping for cowboy hats, since Winstock is this weekend and I need to look the part. I went to a store in West St. Paul that featured some higher class cowboy gear. I found out quick that "high class" was an understatement. When I first walked in, all the hats were in the $100 range or up that I saw, except for one that said $9.50. Pointing to the hat I asked the store manager if the hat was $9.50, because it had the chance to be $950 which seemed, oh, what's the word... excessive. The manager didn't speak a lick of English, and thought I said I want to try it on. She pulls it down and hands it to me and nods when I repeat the question and say the "$950" part. So, yesterday I wore a $950 dollar cowboy hat. As I left the store I was thinking if that hat were discounted to $100, I still wouldn't have bought it.
